Hand dyed using Indigo plants

These gorgeous Kaftans are created using back strap looms and organic coyuche cottons. It takes a month or so to complete each piece.  First the cotton is picked and pulped with a stick.  Then it is hand pulled with a spindle and then off to be dyed.  The dyes are created from various colors only found in nature.   Pomegrante skins and seeds.  Nopal skins.  Shells from nuts and on and on.  The embroidery work represents the familial line of tradition.   These huipils are heritage pieces from our county and are timeless fashion pieces that transcend time.

This fits best a size very loose small to Fitted USA 10 (UK and Australia is a Small to Large-USA sizes run big).   On a flat lay this piece measures 23  inches across.  Please not that huipils have a different fitting.  Even though the bust is 46 inches in measurement, the boxy design loses width on the body.  45 inches in length. Neck opening is 4 inches across.   Arm opening is a 9 inch slit

Please note these are hand dyed with natural dyes and the threads are handspun.  Color irregularities and imperfections are part of what make these pieces one of a kind hand made works of art.
